Day 23 – Night market

Today we had lessons as per normal from morning to afternoon, after so we headed for our lunch, we tried exploring around Jian She Er Lu but we realize that there wasn’t any other food stalls and so we decided to head back to the Zha Jiang Main Stall together with some others who have not tried it before.

After lunch we headed back to our hostel where we practice our dance and at the same time complete those work that are left uncompleted. It was around 7pm when most of them headed to the night market.

While the rest headed to the night market, the 4(Jiali, Dyana, Sheila) headed to Ling Meng Le for our dinner. This time, jiali and I did the ordering of food, while for Sheila, it was her first attempt to write our orders in Chinese. While we were having our dinner, we met with Edward and Agnes, and so after our dinner all of us headed to the night market. We took a 10 minutes bus ride before reaching Jian She Qi Lu.

When we have reached the night market, it somehow resembles the Pasa Malam that we had in Singapore, well the only difference is that they have a full stretch of stalls set up but most of themwere selling clothes, bags, shoes and others.

Reflection:
When we were in the night market today, I realize that most of the people in China, doesn’t wear slippers when they are out shopping. Well it might be because its Autumn, but in Singapore, most of us wear slippers where ever we go. Be it to town or the hawker centres, and we even wore slippers to school!

Over here in WUST, the local students hardly wear slippers to class, most of them would either wear covered shoes or some would simply wear heels to school. But in Ngee Ann, most of us wore slippers to school for lesson. I guess it should be time when we should all start learning from the local students, we should all try to wear covered shoes despite the hot weather in Singapore.
