Day 7 – A trip to the new WUST

Lesson started at 8.30am today and so most of us were half dead when we were in class. We had our lesson 2 on the culture of China and today topic was China Politics. The lesson also covered on the PRC(People Republic of China) as well as the Communist party in China.

It was around 11.15am when our lesson end, and so a few of us decided to get our lunch packed from a Soup Shop. I bought a bowl corn soup with rice, and it was delicious (: the taste it gave reminds me of home.
I love this (:

After lunch we were all ready to set off to a new campus of WUST, it was a 1 ½ hour ride from our campus to the new WUST campus. When we were there, we were amazed by how big the school was. I guess the size of the campus was around 5 -6 times of Ngee Ann. We were touring around the school in bus as it was their freshman day and so there were many freshman undergoing some training camps. As from what I heard, this training camp would last for one month and all guys and girls would have to take part in it, this is to train their discipline.

Our first destination in the WUST campus was in the medical block where we could see organs and all the other parts of the human body, they were stored in transparent containers filled with some chemicals to preserved it, and the fact that they were real organs from the human body freaks me out.

It was after the visiting of the medical block that we split into two groups whereby MDE was brought to a class and shared a presentation with the China student over there. They were really nice as they actually presented to us in English and so in return we presented ours in Chinese. The guys did a good job in presenting, you can really notice that they are trying their best while they were doing the presentation. And so after the presentation the China students did 2 performance for us and so the guys in our group sang a song called Qing Fei De Yi for them too, the best thing was a China student actually came and join them and they sang together (: Anyway the students gave us a Mooncake each as they know that we would be celebrating mooncake festival here without and family, how thoughtful of them right?
The presentation (:

And so after the interaction with the China students, we headed to their Museum where they store all their trophy as well as the name of the students who did their school proud. We had about ½ an hour to tour the museum and after so we were brought to the canteen to have our dinner. The canteen was really huge it was 3 storey high and it had many different variety of food available for the students.

It was finally time for us to return to the hotel, we were all knocked out when we were in the bus. When we have reached out hostel, some of us went to Duo Luo Jie to have our dinner and we collected a cake for the birthday girl Diyanah. It was around 9.20pm when we all gathered at the lobby and went up to her room to give her a surprise. We had a small celebration in her room and I hope she enjoyed the performance by the guys, Happy 18 birthday !! ^^

Im going to miss all these time that I spend with you guys (:

Reflection:
When we were having a interaction session with the local students, one of the student actually mention that the first place he would want to visit is Singapore as he said that the people there are friendly and that it is a very safe environment to live in. When I heard that I felt really heartwarming and the second thoughts that came into my mind was, is it possible if I could bring all of them there to Singapore for a short stay?
Many a times we take things that we have for granted, we took for granted that our country is clean, we litter our home ground thinking that there will be people who would clear it, we leave our things laying around thinking that nobody would want to take it since our country is safe. But is that true? Maybe it is time to think again, let’s try and not take things for granted. Especially the ones we love.
